Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Huntington County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or direct message may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It is not disclosed outside the organization unless a binding legal duty requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause servers and analytics tools to receive routine technical information about the visit:
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent
- The referring website, when supplied
- Date and time information for page requests
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. They help measure page use, traffic patterns, and where visits end. Analytics vendors may combine that activity into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, maintaining, and improving page speed
- Routing submitted searches to the selected provider
- Measuring which resources are useful
- Diagnosing errors and security problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect inferred interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Huntington County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case data. It identifies official access routes for Huntington Circuit Court, Huntington Superior Court, the Huntington County Clerk, and Indiana MyCase. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its retention and disclosure practices, so its terms should be reviewed before a query is sent.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Huntington County Clerk, Indiana courts, legal-aid resources, or third-party tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing is controlled by those providers.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search providers receiving a submitted query
- Analytics vendors measuring use and performance
- Advertising networks serving page advertisements
- Government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used for information under this site's control. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, and complete protection against every breach cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed when a valid request is received.
Your Data Rights
Rights can depend on the visitor's location and applicable law. Indiana's Access to Public Records Act, IC 5-14-3, governs access to records held by public agencies, while the Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records govern judicial records. Those laws do not turn this private site's analytics data into an official court file. Available privacy choices include:
- Request access to personal data held about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Ask for deletion where the law permits it
- Object to or opt out of eligible processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revision will be posted here with a replacement effective date.
